Menopausal Nutrition Podcast

Woman can now expect to spend many years of their adult life in menopause. For this reason it’s important to focus on taking care of ourselves during the menopausal and postmenopausal years so we can continue feeling healthy and happy. During menopause, the ovaries produce less estrogen than during the reproductive years. As a result, many problems women have with menopause relate to low estrogen levels. These may include physical symptoms, such as hot flushes, decreased energy levels, fatigue, weight gain, and sleep disruption, as well as mood-related symptoms, such as anxiety and depression.

Although menopause ends fertility, women can stay healthy and vibrant during this time in their lives. We should remember that menopause is a natural biological process, not a disease.

Positive nutrition, mindset and lifestyle changes can help promote good menopausal health. These include regular exercise, sleep, stress management, mindfulness and a healthy balanced diet.
