How To Make Water Infusions

I know we all understand we should drink around 2 litres of water daily, but do we really do that?  Being dehydrated can make it more difficult for your body to process food efficiently. Dehydration occurs when more water and fluids leave the body than enter it. Even low levels of dehydration can cause headaches, lethargy, brain fog and constipation. The human body is roughly 75 percent water!

To give your water a little taste try making water infusions by putting fruits and herbs in your water glass or bottle. By doing this you can make your water more exciting and flavoursome.

Citrus fruits, berries, melons, apple, cucumber, rosemary, fresh ginger, thyme, and mint are all good choices.

Infused water is best 1 to 2 hours after you’ve made it. Or, you can let it infuse overnight in the refrigerator. You can use frozen fruit if you like as it works just as well and cools your drink at the same time.

Here are some of my favourite combinations.

Strawberry, Basil and Lemon.
